The "awesome button" was from DA2, which was marketed as poorly (if not worse). They really need to refine their marketing department.
No, there's was some jackass for BW's marketing or community relations just before the release of ME3 that tried to sell new players onto ME3 as being the "best place to enter the series, without needing to ever play ME1 or ME2", who came up with one of the dumbest slogans I've ever heard about a game to paraphrase it, he said something like "In ME3, when you press any button, something AWESOME always happens!"
The "ME3 is the best place to start for new players" quote was from Mike Gamble, I think. And that line only makes sense because they made Vega into an audience surrogate who constantly reiterates information from previous games. Half his dialogue in missions consists of stuff like, "Hey Shepard, remember when x event happened?" It was a lazy way to go about it.
Had to buy a GTX 1060,my GTX 780 was screaming in pain for this.BF1 gave me some hope but Anromeda is not optimized as BF1
But the 1060 is good? I'm curious since a buddy of mine is maybe going to upgrade and I didn't know for sure. Although I think AVPen is doing well with a GTX 970.
well its not smooth as I hoped but its 60 fps, nothing to complain about for me.Even though ultra definitely needs 1070 or higher.Still happy with results, little fps drop is fine as long as I can play it up +50
EDIT: Just realised this thread is literally titled "No Spoilers". I hid them, so hopefully it's ok?
I finished it. Bout 100h playtime. Great fun. I'm sad I couldn't play at 4k, but I got a mix of high/ultra at 1440, which was nice.
Opinions (spoilers later will be hidden) Good - Combat was fun and cathartic. - Nomad was great. SKIINS!!! - Wide weapon and power variety. - Generally good story. - Characters felt generally real. - Very pretty. - Planets are big and generally interesting and varied. - Some of the dialogue made me literally lol. Most remembered:
"Pathfinder! They're scanning us!" "Well scan them back!" and "Really pathfinder?" after jumping onto the ship on Eos.
Bad/Disappointing - Obvious ones -- Lack of facial animation (Didn't have an issue with any other animations. Didn't deserve the flak it got) --- People just didn't emote enough for me. -- Loooots of freezes, mostly when leaving or entering a planet. - Planets could feel a little repetitive like:
Elaaden and Eos felt similar being sandy/dusty empty worlds.
- Kett design was boring, basically just the Collectors. - Lack of enemy variation. - Lack of compelling characters. (I'll retract this for now. There was a banter bug which likely lessened their impact on me. Also I've only played once so far.) - Biotics felt a bit weak, and PROFILES MADE ME SAD. - A lol-worthy thing too: Actual spoilers here about minor story and location.
Forward stations earned their name when, on Havaarl, I'd just met this group of super reclusive people on top of an ancient tower where they'd been undisturbed for centuries or something. And this forward station just zooms down right next to an ancient statue...
They've done a bunch of improvements and added emotiveness to some conversations in patch 1.05 btw K. Lipsync also. I think we can expect this trend to continue. Will be another interesting thing when you do a second PT. As an example, mrs biggest offender:
I think kfreon summed it up. I have seen the changes in my play through with 1.05 now and it is making a big difference. I suspect when I finally finish this week that I'll take a long break. In fact, I probably will start up Mass Effect for a trilogy run. That should be interesting to see how it holds up now; modded with MEUITM of course.
Side note: I'm glad I've stayed 1080p at home. It makes games like this much more doable for less money. It's still flipp'n expensive but it doesn't seem too egregious.
I'm personally going to leave it now until they add DLC content. I've enjoyed the game so far, but I'm not going to grind out those Additional Tasks like shooting a kett device. If they were on the map then I'd do them, but can't be bothered to hunt them down. I can't wait for the DLC though, especially:
