I read Mass Effect Revelation, Ascension and Retribution over the past two days and I took notes now and again for anything that could one day prove useful for my mods. I thought it would be worth posting it here too, for any of you who might want to make use of it.

- There appears to be an example of a human fighter carrier or mass troop transport, the spread winged ship in the background. Link
- An example of turian female dress. Link
- There is visible alien script on one page when a hooded turian speaks. It is not clear if it is turian or Reaper that they are speaking in. Link
- There are strangely ‘evolved’ turians during the First Contact War. These are a lot bigger than the normal turians and are actually a variant of Reaperised turian. They appear to be about the same height as a Geth Prime. Link
- Arcturus Station pre-Reaper War. Link
- Examples of previously unseen alien fighters in the bottom left. Link
- It appears that the artefact that created the strange ‘evolved’ turian husks and turned Jack Harper into the Illusive Man can also turn humans into such monstrous husks as well. Link
- Turians on Palaven have very angular architecture. High rise and jagged. Link
- The Arca Monolith that created the strangely ‘evolved’ turians allows them to maintain a level of intelligence and personality. Link
- The turians have myths of titans striving for the heavens. But once they travelled to space, the legends and their religion lost its significance. Link
- There were once Valluvian Priests on Palaven, before their ascent into space. Link
- The Arca Monolith is an ‘evolution accelerator’. Link
- Another example of turian female clothing. Link
- The Valluvian Priests of the turian past were also these strangely evolved turian husks, beneath their temple is another Arca Monolith, but they buried themselves within the temple to protect the turian people from the corruption. Link
- The Arca Monolith’s are really devolution devices, stripping away the minds of those affected, turning them into monstrosities under Reaper control. Link

Mass Effect: Revelation Useful Information:
- In 2165, the Alliance standard issue assault rifle was the Hahne-Kedar G-912, which apparently has 4,000 ammo… this likely uses the ME1 style of ammo.
- The Hahne-Kedar P7 was the standard-issue pistol for all Alliance personnel.
- Ujon is the capital city of Camala, the spaceport (which is slightly larger than Ujon) is named Hatre.
- The source of Camala’s wealth was a massive element zero deposit just beneath a desert between Ujon and Hatre.
- Krogan complexion grows darker and duller with age, yellow and green are common to younger members of the species.
- “Hrakhor” is an insult of some kind in Krogan, but no idea what it means, potentially means “cowards”
- 40 million people live on the Citadel, this is rather different from the 13 million ingame.
- Anderson’s ex-wife is called Cynthia.
- Virtually all inhabitable planets in the galaxy were fundamentally similar to Earth in several key characteristics; they tended to exist in systems with suns that fit the type-G classification according to the traditional Morgan-Keenan system, their orbits all fell in the narrow range known as the goldilocks-zone. Because of this, the time it took the home world of almost every major species to complete one orbit around its sun varied by only a few weeks.
- The galactic standard year—an average of the asari, salarian, and turian years—was only 1.09 times longer than Earth’s.
- The asari are the most widespread race in Council space.
- Asari complexion is tinged with a blue or greenish hue, but pigment modification is a simple enough procedure that it was possible to see humans of similar skin colour, too.
- Elasa is a pale-green alcoholic drink from Thessia. It is sharp and cold, but the aftertaste is bitter with tangy sweetness. Some call it Sorrow’s Companion.
- The Volus have a formalized union between partners, an institutionalized recognition of the mating process, which is a tradition.
- The Presidium had been designed to evoke a vast parkland ecosystem.
- The Citadel Council had tried many times to establish diplomatic ties with the Geth, but every time they sent an embassy ship it would be destroyed without a response to their hails.
- At one point, shortly after the Quarians were driven from Rannoch, a fleet made up of all the races of Council space massed on the edge of the Perseus Veil to defend against a geth attack. It never happened.
- Saren made use of an Izaali Combine sniper rifle, considering his prejudices, it makes some sense if Izaali Combine is a turian company.
- One of the poorer regions on earth is the Texan metropolis formed by the union of Houston, Dallas and San Antonino.
- Anderson makes use of a Hahne-Kedar P15-25, I believe it is a pistol.
- Batarians were on the cutting edge of medical science, and the standard of care at their facilities was among the best in Citadel space.
- The Council do not believe that conflict is always inevitable with synthetics; “But we do not automatically assume that we will have no other choice but to come into conflict with them. That is a conceit of humanity.”
- The asari, salarians, and even the turians had well-deserved reputations for selflessness and altruism on a galactic scale.
- Humanity is a major trade partner with half a dozen other species in Citadel Space.
- Officially, Spectres could come from any species. But almost invariably they were only chosen from the Council races.
- The Hahne-Kedar P7 was the standard-issue pistol for all Alliance personnel.

Mass Effect: Ascension Useful Information:
- The Illusive Man ordered the assassination of Claude Menneau so that Charles Saracino would become the Terra Firma Party Leader.
- The exact age of Omega is unknown, although it is agreed the station had originally been built by the Protheans before they disappeared. However, nobody agreed on which had been the first species to resettle it once the Protheans were mysteriously wiped out.
- No-one can agree on a single name for Omega.
- In their native tongue the asari name for Omega loosely translates as “heart of evil”
- The turian name for Omega refers to it as “world without law”
- The salarians named for Omega calls it “place of secrets.”
- The krogan name for Omega translates to “land of opportunity.”
- Quarians are technologically as capable as other races despite the disability of being migrants, potentially moreso than some.
- Quarians are a completely insular society, no-one had set foot on their vessels in 300 years, or at least didn’t live to tell of it.
- Cord-Hislop Aeorospace is a midsized starship manufacturer based on Elysium. It is one of Cerberus’ many cover businesses.
- There were several crimes that could result in exile from the Fleet; murder, repeated violent offenses, vandalism or sabotage directed at the Liveships or the food supplies.
-Loyalty was a cornerstone of quarian culture; survival on the Migrant Fleet required every member of the community to work together.
- The atrium at the heart of Grissom Academy was a five-acre woodland that had been carefully constructed at the heart of the space station to provide a place for faculty and students to commune with nature.
- The atrium’s glass roof was equipped with adjustable mirrors to reflect and redirect light from Elysium’s sun down onto the trees below, mimicking the duration of the day-night and seasonal cycles found on the planet.
- Local flora made up the majority of the plant life, though a few exotic species imported from other human colonised worlds were found in specially tended gardens scattered throughout the atrium.
- It was also home to carefully monitored populations of insects, birds, and small mammals indigenous to Elysium, as well as numerous fish species in the small streams that wound their way through the landscape.
- Elysium has a chipmunk equivalent.
- The batarians are merchants by nature, not warriors.
- Quarians cannot complete their pilgrimage by bringing back a gift attained by causing harm to another.
- The Illusive Man meets people on earth, sometimes.
- Quarians are free with the items they don’t need, if it isn’t needed, it’s taken to the cargo hold and anyone can have it.
- Quarians make use of beautiful cloth in their decoration and are far from averse to the use of bright colour. It seems odd now that the game has them all in purple. Greens, blues and oranges are mentioned on the Idenna.
- Quarians all seem to be of a similar size and shape, though this could be interspecies bias.
- For some reason humans appear to have greater genetic diversity than other races, but that is changing as a more homogenised population emerges, it’s mentioned that maybe this happened with the other races too, that they were once more diverse than they are now.

Mass Effect: Redemption Useful Information:
- There are krogan in the Blue Suns, something that we don’t really see in the games. He is killed, but I doubt he is the only one in the company. Link
- Shepard was kept in a stasis pod, his life (or death) was uncertain. Link
- Elcor are good dancers… according to the Elcor. Link
- “Collectors are as rare as violent hanar” Link
- The Shadow Broker has only one hitman; a giant beefy salarian Link
- The Shadow Broker has squadrons of fighters that act as sentries. Link
- An example of Drell armour. Link

Mass Effect: Retribution Useful Information:
- Red Sand has no affect on batarians or asari.
- In addition to being a species of biotics, the asari were known to have subtle yet powerful empathic—almost telepathic—abilities. Some believed they used these talents to influence the perceptions of others, making themselves appear more attractive than they actually were.
- The Afterlife club consisted of four levels, each of the various levels appealed to its own particular crowd, with its own dance floor, unique musical style, and custom drinks and chemical recreations. All themed around the afterlife, whichever race you come from.
- On the uppermost floor the music is less intense, the lights more subdued and there are less clients.
- Aria appears to have more than one offspring, though at least one of those is dead, killed by Kai Leng.
- The Alliance were seeking the support of the Elcor in a similar way to the turians sought the support of the Volus.
- The Citadel’s inner ring houses a spectacular park. Grass, trees, flowers, birds, and insects from dozens of different worlds had been chosen and carefully reengineered to coexist in a verdant paradise. There is also a lake here.
- Executor Palin is still alive after the Battle of the Citadel.
- When Grayson is first controlled, he is capable of seeing everything the Reapers are doing when they control his actions, nothing he tries can prevent them from moving him as they wish.
- The Illusive Man liked to encourage the impression that Cerberus was all-knowing and all-powerful, but the truth was somewhat different. By galactic standards, they were a small organization, with limited people and finite resources.
- The Gorgon assault rifle is a heavy one, quite powerful but only useful in experienced hands.
- Kai Leng had a special modified Razer pistol.
- The station that held Grayson was primarily a research facility; it wasn’t properly equipped or staffed to defend against a direct assault. Orbiting an insignificant planet circling an irrelevant orange dwarf star in the Terminus Systems, they relied on the secrecy of their remote location to protect them. It is at least 3 mass relays from the Citadel.
- Dr. Nuri is the woman who experimented on Paul Grayson, turning him into a reaper abomination.
- The Illusive Man makes use of a Harpy Pistol, it is an auto-repeating pistol that can very quickly fire off 6 rounds accurately.
- Turians show no quarter for an enemy.
- The Reapers view the chaos of Omega with revulsion.
- The Sokolov shotgun is heavier than the old Hahne-Kedar shotguns used by the Alliance.

Mass Effect: Conviction Useful Information:
- There is an insectoid humanoid with four arms, and another unknown alien variety with six. These are both on Omega. Link
Mass Effect: Homeworlds Useful Information:
- Police on earth make use of vaguely human shaped drones that have a head a little like a geth. Link
- An example of slightly risky look asari clothing. Link
- Unusual colouration for a salarian, blue and purple. Link
- Quarians wearing blue and green are shown. Link
- The Elcor have always been sympathetic to the Quarians following the loss off their home. Link
- Palaven is shown in this issue. It has grass, there are impressive looking rocks in the distance, but no sight of what their cities look like. Link
- The Hanar and Drell on Kahje live in domed cities in the ocean. Link
- Mount Vassala has many prothean artefacts held for enkindler worship. Link
- Drell can have reddish and black colouration. Link
- There were three locations for older prothean archives discovered by Liara on Kahje; the first’s location is unknown, the second had been erased (likely thessia considering how tightly they controlled the knowledge of their archives) and Mars. Link
- The Kahje Prothean Archives don't look that much different from those in Mars. Link

Mass Effect: Foundation Useful Information:
- An example of human female clothing. Link
- The guards in the image are carrying slightly unusual guns. According to Mass Effect: Revelation at this time they were using Hahne-Kedar G-912’s, so perhaps these weapons are those? Link
- There is a slightly different looking Quarian outfit here. Link
- A turian defence garrison. Link
- An alien bird that hasn’t been seen elsewhere in the trilogy. Link
- Interior of either a Shrine of the Enkindlers, or just a hanar building. Link
- Another interior of a hanar structure. Link
- Potentially Kahje in the second frame. Link

Mass Effect: Discovery Useful Information:
- Evidence of blue skinned drell. Link
- Quarians strip mine as quickly as they can, sometimes they appear to leave some of their people behind to harvest as much as possible before returning to the flotilla. Link
- The trip to Andromeda was only possible due to Shio'leth's astro-cartographic data that he stole from the geth. Link
- Three inactive primary Relay's were joined together by the Geth to use as an "FTL Telescope" to view Andromeda. This was called The Kholas Array. Link

Mass Effect: Initiation Useful Information:
- Tamayo Point is “Sol’s gateway to the galaxy for the no-frills travel set”
- Asari version of politeness is a slightly wider zone of personal space just beyond melding distance
- A crowd of adult turians tend to walk in lockstep, due to their military training
- Krogan resist walking in lockstep and will move at their own pace or even just stop to prevent it. Due to moving in unison being linked to their need to find a battlemaster.
- The goal of the Alliance Valkyrie Program existed to promote human-asari relations and to help with training for human biotics
- Talien’s Daughters are led by Nisira T’Kosh, a 70-tour combat veteran, survivor of the Ailanthus campaign and the Siege of Arta.
- There were allegations that Jien Garson had misused investor funds, underreported earning statements and sponsored illegal research
- Theia Station was old, an ancient quarian low-orbit station, damaged and derelict after the Morning War but purchased by the A.I. from volus ‘station-flippers’
- The quarian construction of Theia Station was phenomenal despite its years and unblemished. It had a Citadel-esque appearance but with slightly ‘off’ angles and water motifs on pipes.
- There are competitors after the Initiative’s technology
- The asari view the trip to Andromeda as a human vanity project
- The trip is a quintillion credit mission
- Ygara, Cora’s friend from Talien’s Daughters, bought a ship called the Audacity. Her crew were an assemblage of ex-commando’s and other specialists including a turian woman, a tiny fully grown krogan the same height as Cora and two male quarians that were very similar in build like twins
- Turians aren’t much for handshakes
- The turian on the ship is Octavia Suran, an information broker
- The krogan is called Jorgal Kih, he’s a drone-recon specialist and heavy weapons expert & pilot
Hanon’Milah & Shilu’Milah are the twin Quarians. Both are nar Qwib-Qwib
- Cora’s mission was to recover data on advanced VI and other systems. A rival organization stole it and corrupted the AI’s original copies, meaning that the fate of the expedition (and potentially the freedom of certain people) relies on a successful mission
- Theia Station possibly is where the research on SAM was conducted.
- An incorporated collective known as HOME Group were behind the theft. They’re a joint government-corporate venture operating on an earth-orbit satellite.
- The government isn’t the Systems Alliance, but a number of non-Alliance factions on Earth
- HOME Group have a space station that tried to emulate the citadel in appearance. It is called Home Away.
- Home Away has a small paramilitary force, but most of its protection comes from high-end mechs that are plated against energy fire, they are run by a Synthetics Insight SleepEasy Series security VI.
- Khalisah Al-Jilani’s interview with Cora is titled “ONCE THE ALLIANCE’S FINEST, NOW CORPORATE GUN FOR HIRE?”
People on Home Away (certain staff) appear to have been cybernetically augmented, they were no longer wholly organic. A cyborg.
- The Home Away VI is an AI. It controls the cyborgs and the mechs.
- The Audacity has a silver hull.
- Ygara appears to be working for someone against the Initiative, as she seemed to have leaked Cora’s image to the Home Away VI during the mission
- Ygara betrays Cora, apparently for money.
- Anything can be bought on Illium for the right price.
- The stolen code was a copy of SAM-E.
- Asari can have multiple husbands.
- There are flowering vines native to Illium.
- On Irune there are disturbingly spiky fish
- Cora meets with an information broker called Eppo Wen. Apparently female.
- It was a long-running mystery as to whether the volus should be considered monogendered, multi-gendered or some other sociobiological paradigm. The volus find questions on it to be intrusive and irrelevant
- The person behind the initial theft of the SAM-E code and the theft of the code from Home Away station is one and the same. They want to disseminate the code publically, into human hands
- The thief went to the Pamyat system
- There are hive-dragonflies on Sur’kesh
- Quiet Eddy is run by a VI called Medea
- Medea is a murderous rogue AI
- Ygara’s assassin was Captain Vlassia Ariokis, service number 6732-IC-1917, assigned to Alliance Intelligence under a classified status.
- Quiet Eddy appears to be an Alliance facility
- Medea appears to have killed everyone on Quiet Eddy. Their bodies are everywhere in the facility.
- A monstrous 8ft ‘human’ is responsible for killing everyone on board the Quiet Eddy, it was extremely muscular, its arms disturbingly thin and long (elbows below hips).
- The monstrous ‘human’ was in fact human, but grown in a lab and implanted with a cybernetic brain. Apparently in an effort to create a super-soldier. The changes appear to have been at a DNA level using synthetics to encourage growth in different ways.
- Quiet Eddy is an Alliance black-site orientated towards AI research. This was conducted in the Gamma Lab, which technically did not exist.
- Medea is a fully fledged AI. It started as an attempt to bridge the notion of Geth ‘AI’ that relies on thousands of voices and a single mind AI that relies on itself. They used a prototype of SAM-E to quicken the pace of their research and it went wrong.
- The monstrous cybernetically enhanced humans were part of another research lab that the AI team didn’t know about on Quiet Eddy.
- Home Away is also a front for the Quiet Eddy black site
- A ship called the SSV Zama rescued people from Quiet Eddy. It vaporised the asteroid.
- Its possible that Ygara made copies of the stolen SAM-E code
- Alec Ryder was keeping silent his desire to bring humanity into a post-transhumanism era where every human as a SAM that lets them think faster than other species, live longer, etc.
- A lot of weird tech had been showing up in the galaxy recently.
- Jien Garson is asian, slender and short.
- Jien Garson makes it clear that part of why the Andromeda Initiative was funded was to fund the development of AI. She doesn’t know what the mysterious benefactor’s hopes are for the technology
- SAM-E is a partition of SAM.
