Hi everybody. My name is Robin (I guess)... and I have the social grace of a hungover Elcor.
I'm new to the ME franchise and has only very recently discovered modding. Still tinkering with the ME3Explorer tool at the moment to figure out how things work, so I figure I should probably join the forum.
I have a project in mind - let's call it, umm, Project Phobetor, named after the Greek god who brings nightmare. As you might have guessed, it has to do with the dream sequences.
=====Edit: I realized I was rambling so you can ignore things I said below=====
=====Edit: By the way, I loved the mod Better Dreams. It's so cool and so well-done=====
=====Edit: I'm kind of ashamed to put my ideas forward now=====
There are things I liked about the dreams (the world in grayscale, ashes in the air, the whispers, the ambient), but there are things I want to change (the location, who we are chasing, etc). For example, I'm okay with the kid's existence (speaking of which, that kid is the only children we've seen throughout the series, right?) but I had a hard time giving a Vorcha's ass about him. It might not even be so bad if he looked like Shepard.
What I want to change in the first dream, then, for example, would be for Shepard to be back on Earth during the Reaper attack, with a "mission objective" of something along the line of "find a way out." S/he runs through the broken buildings (and maybe a horde of Husks chasing behind), with people crying and screaming in the background. Then when the dreadnought exploded and the scaffold collapsed and Shepard tumbled down, they woke up upon impact, and the game continues as is.
With the second dream, which happens after Tuchunka if I remember correctly, the dream starts taking into account choices and Paragon/Renegade alignment. Mission objective for the new dream is either something like "save them" (paragon) or "fight off enemies" (renegade). With screaming and crying as ambient, Shepard hears people calling out to him/her (squadmates yelling "Commander!" or "enemy everywhere!"). The dream starts at, say, the empty Citadel hospital. Shepard runs toward Ash/Kaidan's room, but when the door opens the scene cut to Palaven base camp, and depending on whether Garrus was alive or not the whispers change. Then when Shepard runs through the barricade, it triggers a map change to Tuchunka, and so on. And maybe in the end of the dream Shepard goes back to Earth again and wakes up the same way. Each area would be as short as a few seconds.
...and I'm rambling. Anyway.
Laugh awkwardly, I'm probably in way over my head. But it's always good to dream big, eh?
