Hi everyone,
I currently know next to nothing about modding and am blinking at the wiki and help threads in utter bewilderment. But I'm inspired to create my own little content mod after playing EGM and seeing just how much cool stuff can be done. That's a seriously cool mod. It made ME3 like a new game for me. I was especially impressed with the evacuation of Thessia minigame.
Anyway, I had an idea for a mod that I think is achievable for a beginner. I noticed that in ME3 you end up with more money than you can feasibly use. I get all the weapons I use fully upgraded and buy all the cabin decorations, but still wind up with something like $100,000 left over that I can't use. So I thought, how about directly purchasing war assets with Shepard's personal savings? I'm thinking a total of 40 points of war assets at $10,000 each, with their availability tied to plot points, that you buy at Spectre Requisitions.
For example if you set up a civilian militia and finish the last Armax Arena quest (the one with the bugged arena), you get the option of establishing a sponsorship for good players that improves the civilian militia by a point. Or if you do Harrot's couch quest on Omega, he agrees to send you some salvaged Ramparts for a nominal fee, which again improve security around the Presidium.
Or (my favorite so far) if you genuinely cure the Genophage and Wrex is alive, a bunch of Krogan mercs from the Terminus return to Tuchanka- many of them with their own ships- ready to help get their troops to Palaven. But there's still Citadel regulations against Krogan amassing armed ships, and you could get those rules rescinded for an administrative fee (ie a bribe). Do that, and you get a tiny Krogan fleet as a war asset for the final battle.
What do you think?
