short version:
basically i'm trying to find most convenient (transparent) way of getting me2 to auto-load an extra package(s) (pcc) for every cell and cutscene in the game so it can successfully use a model therein that I want for my player character (not the default models as in BIOG_HMF_ARM_CTH and BIOG_HMF_ARM_SHP). so far it seems that adding required package name in coalesced.ini as in example below is the closest i can do (example, i want HMF_ARM_NKDa and HMF_ARM_NKDb, that i also added to my casual and torso settings in same file):
[Engine.StartupPackages]
...
DLCStartupPackage=BioD_EndGm1_110ROMGarrus
however i run into some sort of me2 ram/resource limitation issue, below is just my quote from another forum. anyone knows how to fix this method, or can suggest a better one?
do you know by any chance about a me2 ram limitation issue, maybe of a workaround by tweaking some settings in inis?
i add DLCStartupPackage=[some package name with extra model i need to auto-load] in [Engine.StartupPackages] in coalesced.ini
this works excellent compared to the awkward way most people used to load another model (ex. custom ini press f1,f7,choose model every time, in every new cell)
the problem with the previous method however is after several level or save loads me2 exe ram usage hits the ~1gb limit at which time it freezes, and i need to kill process to load previous save. this sort of is expected behavior cos garbage collection dont apply to enginestartuppackages.
the me2 exe is large address aware, i checked with the laa 2.0.4 utility, so should be capable of using 2gb+ ram, but in practice it doesnt -((
dont know how to deal with it.
another thing i was considering maybe to create a custom pcc with only that one model i need to auto-load and stripped of everything else. that way maybe decrease the extra ram usage but i dont know of any tools that could do that... is there any utility that could delete unneeded parts from the original package and resave to new pcc with only minimal extra content.. [edit:could this be done by me3 explorer Package Editor?]
