So for over 7 years I've been bothered by the visor opacities on some helmets. The Inferno, Cerberus, and Reckoner Knight helmets all have visors that are simply tinted like a car window, not reflective like other visors. It makes your character look goofy, so I've never actually used them.
I was told that opacity is tied to the material properties in Unreal Engine, something we're not able to edit without official tools. So for a while, I figured this was something beyond the scope of modding that couldn't be fixed.
Then recently I discovered this tutorial on how to edit the opacity of Tali's visor: www.tapatalk.com/groups/me3explorer/changing-tali-s-visor-s-opacity-and-color-t355.html
So it is possible to edit visor opacities. However, it seems like a very specific task, and one I wasn't able to crack. The above tutorial requires use of PCC Editor 2.0, which I couldn't find in the latest ME3 Explorer. So I downloaded whatever the latest version would've been at the time of that post, and used PCC Editor to explore BIOG_HMM_ARM_SHP_CER02_R (I believe this is the Cerberus armor, right?), but that's when I hit a roadblock. I don't know where to go for the visor (I assume it was the entry ending in MAT_1 or something), and I couldn't figure out how to extract it to tinker with it and see if I was right.
Can anyone more versed in this stuff help me? I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to see this stuff changed.
Thanks!
