I'm very new to the whole Mass Effect modding scene, and I've spent the past week or so getting to know the basics, the toolset etc. One thing I've been trying to do that I assumed would be very simple is giving me a lot of trouble, and that is to change the opacity of Shepard's Breather helmet visor so that is opaque.
These are the steps I've been taking:
1. I open up BIOG_HMM_HGR_SHP_R in Package Editor 2. Navigate to the ShepA subsection and select HMM_VSR_SHPa_MAT_1a 3. Go to the Interpreter tab and change VSR_Opacity to 1 4. Save, update TOCs and run the game
What happens is the game will either crash when loading the armour locker or a mission, presumably because it is trying to load the armour. The strange thing is occasionally I can open the locker and see the armour without crashing, and the visor has changed the way I want it to. But it still crashes if I try to load into a mission.
I can successfully do this to other characters like Tali or Garrus with no issue, it only seems to be whenever I edit Shepard's files that it doesn't want to work, which makes me think I'm missing a step perhaps? It also happens regardless of what I actually touch inside the pcc, it's not just ShepA.
I have no idea where to go from here, so if anyone could point out something I've missed or give me a hand in this it would be greatly appreciated!
