ABOUTThis thread is for mod creators who wish to share basic information regarding the release (or update) of mods made with the toolset. Texture modders, your mods should be capable of being installed with the toolset. Using the toolset to create the mods isn't necessary, as that functionality is mostly outside of its purview (Image Engine aside). Feel free to post screenshots and links to your host, just remember that this isn't a support area for your mod. If users have more than a couple basic questions, be sure to direct them to your mod's hosting site. If it's a development-related question, and you have a mod development thread here, then please direct them there instead. If possible, flag down a moderator (there will be new ones soon, promise) and they can relocate the OT post for you. Anyone is of course free to respond to any announcement; posting certainly isn't restricted to mod creators. Just please follow the same guidelines above Congrats on your new mod!

ALOT for ME2 2017 is out !Version 2017 is a big overhaul of ALOT, with many changes, including a new installation procedure, brought to you by MassEffectModder developper aquadran. Installation now shouldn't take more than an hour, much less for those of you with an SSD. Only ALOT for ME2 has been updated to version 2017 yet. ALOT for ME3 is in progress . Link! What is included in ALOT 2017 ? - 1044 high resolution, vanilla friendly textures, for ALOT ME2.
- More than 2000 for ALOT ME3 (not sure of the exact number yet).
- More textures for MEUITM, in cooperation with CDAMJC.
What is new in ALOT 2017 ?[Textures] - We (AlvaroMe and I) created an exhaustive database of "portable" (ie identical) textures between the 3 Mass Effect games. This means comparing through various means about 44 000 textures. The spreadsheets we came up with are publicly available here.
- Bioware downscaled many textures and upscaled others throughout the development of the 3 games (eg a texture could be 1024px in ME1, 512px in ME2, 256px in ME3). We normalized the textures (same and highest resolution everywhere).
- We compared each ALOT texture to its highest resolution vanilla counterpart. We removed all non vanilla-friendly textures and fixed many issues.
- I made plenty of new textures. More to come in the next updates
.
[Installation] - Switch from ME3Explorer to MassEffectModder (MEM).
- Installation of ALOT has been simplified thanks to an installer made for us by the MEM author.
- Installation should now take less than an hour on any computer. Much less than that on SSD.
- MEM takes care automatically of INI settings.
- No more DDS version. 7z version has been changed to MEM format. The DDS' can still be extracted from the MEM version, using MEM.
- No more torrents. The simplification of the setup means it is now viable for me to upload each version on Nexus. Also, improvements on Nexus' side for upload of big files.
[Community] We are now on Discord : discord.gg/PSYR3ZbReddit post : https://www.reddit.com/r/masseffect/comments/5rqhvy/a_lot_of_textures_alot_version_2017/ You can join us there to give feedback, ask (sensible) questions. We'll also make available pre-releases for beta testing of ALOT for ME3 there.

That's great... but if A.L.O.T. 2017 no longer supports the toolset, featuring it here seems a bit insulting to me. Seems in bad taste to indirectly advertise the use of a different tool on these forums as well.

That's great... but if A.L.O.T. 2017 no longer supports the toolset, featuring it here seems a bit insulting to me. Seems in bad taste to indirectly advertise the use of a different tool on these forums as well. After speaking on Skype, toolset admins agree with Otte's sentiment. This thread was created to help modders spread word of their mods created with the toolset. Texture mods, by their nature, don't require the toolset at all. All creation and editing can be done in GIMP, Photoshop, Paint.NET, or another editor. DDSes can be bundled into TPFs meant for Texmod. The toolset is completely ancillary to texture mods, despite a majority of our users using it to install texture mods. And this is why the requirement for any texture mod to be posted in this thread is that it *should* be compatible with the toolset. It pains us to point this out, but posting release information about a mod that not only is incompatible with the toolset but advertises another tool feels pretty disrespectful to us, not to mention in poor taste. In the future, we'd appreciate it if texture folks stick to only posting here if their mod is compatible with the toolset. We'll amend the OP accordingly. Thanks.

I've updated my HR Liara default armor for ME3 and also ported to ME2 to replace her LotSB armor. ME2 & ME3 Nexus projects.

Liara - ME2 Lair of the Shadow Broker face restoration for ME3! A mod straight from the heart. Would've been completely impossible without Texplorer to get the original face texture file from LotSB DLC, or the TPF tools to install it into ME3 and package it all up with a bow. www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/513/?

Same-Sex Romances for ME1 has officially been released! The mod allows Ashley and Kaidan to be romanced by both male and female Shepard, making full use of the unused voiceovers in the game files. As this is my first ever mod release, I'm both excited and very nervous about this, haha. Link

I'm mainly pointing out this optional update to LIME because plasmaFLOW worked really hard on it and I think it's pretty good. And I'm a nit-picker on video stuff.

Mass Horizons - RespawnWhat is Respawn?Respawn is a modification to almost every mission in Mass Effect 3, changing the amount of enemies that you are facing up against, and making the game more difficult in the process. Although it is on its v1.02 release it is far from finished. This module is part of a larger group of mods that I am making called Mass Horizons, which will each tie together but can be used separately if a player only wants to access certain parts of the mod.Why am I posting about it?This mod has been out awhile, sure, but on Sunday I uploaded three files; A fix to a bug on the Cerberus HQ mission, the v1.02 mod which includes that fix, and more excitingly an experimental edit. I have managed to edit N7: Cerberus Labs to make it so the enemies that spawn are dictated by the choice you made at the end of Mass Effect 2. Save the Collector Base and you'll fight more elite troops but with smaller numbers, while if you destroyed the base you will fight larger forces.
I've released it so I could get some feedback on whether it is something that people actually enjoy or want, which is why I'm posting here. If you try it, I hope you like it.
